All in all , hands down the best burrito I had!! Amazing salsa bar and lovely service

Came back to have food there after 8 years. Salsa was good. Portions were good. Asian female cashier was rude; 1) interrupted me in a rude manner when I ordered 2) asked my gf to move in a rude manner while we were still eating so she can wipe down our table on our time. I was disappointed to learn such quality food can be accompanied by such trash service. Will definitely not return.

You will not regret eating here! If it gets super busy, you can just order before hand and pick up! Will definitely be back for more.

We had to go back the next day it was so good! Seating is limited so it is a little like whack-a-mole, you have to get it before it's gone! The atmosphere is so cool tho! The salsa bar is delicious!

came here on a saturday afternoon. not impressed for the price. I could tell the ingredients were not prepped consistently; ingredients were not in good combination - too much tortilla, too much cabbage and poorly chopped. sauces are ok, horchata and drinks are pre mixed.

Easily the best restaurant I've been to. I recommend the molé quesadilla!

Cali burrito with carne asada was the bomb... love the secret chipotle sauce.

I am a Mexican food junkie and I was excited to visit the Lucha Libre, but I was somewhat dissapointed. First off the place is tiny and if you show up at peak hours you will probably not get a seat inside. That was our experience. Also, we had a very long line before ordering and our food arrived somewhat cold. I would recommend coming here during their non peak hours to have a better experience than we did. The food did have good flavor and I loved their choices of salsas.

Lucha Libre Taco Shop is a Mexican wrestling-themed restaurant. I can tell you that they really stick with this motif. From the wrestling masks on the fountain drink dispenser right down to the bathrooms. After you have come to grips with the decor get ready for some really good Mexican food. The staff was friendly once I got to the counter. Oh did I mention this place can get busy? Well, it can and does. Please refrain from piledriven anyone in frustration. The food is worth the wait. Overall a great experience.

Just wow. This place is laid back and super delicious. I'm very impressed with the selection of hot sauces, I can't choose a favorite. Then the fun lucha decor! A MUST visit. Bravo.

EVERYTHING here tastes incredibly good, their salsa bar is made of the freshest ingredients, but the creamy garlicky coriander salsa is to die for, and when combined with the Surfin Cali burrito, (which is the best burrito in existence) you will probably have the tastiest combo you've ever had.

I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of burritos but Lucha Libre is the best burrito I have tried in the SOCAL. Their surf and turf burrito is so delicious!

Lucha Libre is still one of the best places to get massive amount of Mexican food at an awesome price. Their burritos are decently sized and their tacos are the standard street sized tacos. What really distinguishes Lucha from other places is their marinated meats. The rich flavor will instantly make anyone a fan after the first bite. Parking has always been an issue at the original Mission Hill location, but now that 2 more locations have opened up in SD, there's less of an overcrowding issue.

Most of the food was good, their surf and turf was amazing!! Their veggie taco was soggy but had good flavor. The mole taco was terrible, I literally spit it out as soonest I had a taste of it. Their salsa bar is okay, some salsa’s had too much onion which takes from the other flavors. The elote was pretty tasty.Simple enough menu & good portions. However, it is expensive! They even charge you for extra creamy chipotle salsa... definitely not a fan of that. If In doubt, order their asada, it is the best one out of the menu.

This place is insane. First came here about 10 years ago. I recommend the California surf burrito. Prob my fav of any I've ever had. Staff is always patient and helpful. Just a great hole in the wall place. Great vibe. Came into San Diego for the first time in a few years and couldn't wait to get back here! Still awesome!!

Excellent tacos in a crowded taco town. They essential were well done but I rarely find more than one salsa I like and I loved 3! Rolled tacos were great and the corn was fantastic. Nice to catch a breeze on the patio but still have shade.

Amazing Mexican Food!! Lines are little too long but well worth it. The Surf and Turf burrito is amazing. The best part is the sauces the white sauce and mango are to die for :) Thanks for closing late night! Lucia Libre

Order was incorrect... got a burrito filled with only refried beans and guac. Quality was sub par. Wont be ordering from here again.

This place is a must visit in San Diego for Mexican food! Affordable, great ambience and located in a nice spot near old town.The tacos and California burrito selection is really good. And they also have a large variety of sauces to choose from.The entire place is Mexican wrestling themed.. Which is pretty quirky and fun.Definitely making multiple visits.

Very good Tacos. Much larger than I expected so I ended up giving one away to a very happy homeless dude on the corner. He asked me if I he should stay in that spot for the next night!Cool place to go in and peruse the decor!

I was stiffed on my order. I ordered a mole quesadilla and was fully charged on it too!!!!! Tried calling for them to fix my order and they wouldn’t even answer the phone. Got all the way home and they gave me a regular quesadilla. All my food was COLD When I got back to my place. I’m beyond upset with my service!!! I WANT MY REFUND!

Avoid this place if you're hungry. They make you wait. They lie and tell you it's just a few minutes,it's ready now and you can easily wait up to 30 min. Irresponsible and dishonest.

They've got one of the best vegetarian tacos I had and their chicken mole taco is really good. I would really suggest to try those two tacos

The restaurant was clean, with great service and helpful staff, Blake, Andy, Nicole were very friendly and recommended such a great selection of The food for our family. The food was amazing and delicious with lots of flavour and variety. We enjoyed it sooooo much!!! This is a MUST go restaurant for Mexican food!!! PS. The decorations and art works are amazing! Great place to take nice photos!!

This spot is my favored. I go to many restaurants but to this restaurant I go the most. The stuff is very amicable and the cuisine they cook is so tasty. I am always happy to have a nice dinner in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

This is a GOOD place. Food is good. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, then this may not be the place for you.. Not as crazy amazing as most people make it out to be. Sauces are pretty good, but there's no room for more than 2 people at a time at the salsa bar. Staff was really nice too :)

Really great food, the surf n turf burrito is really good! This was my first California burrito when I moved there in 2015 and immediately became a favorite spot of mine. The staff are super friendly as well, and it is pretty fast service even when they are "busy". I live in Washington right now, but everytime I go back to San Diego I make it a point to stop in there.

Fun theme. Nice food. Glad we went. The cucumber salsa was a new flavor for my palate.

Great options, atmosphere, and food was good. I've had better elsewhere. The meat here didn't stand out for me. Would go back, only if others wanted to go.

This place is AMAZING!! If ever you're in San Diego this is a must! Staff was very friendly and patient with us tourist. Our order came out quickly, hot and fresh. The salsa bar is definitely something to write home about. Don't get me started on the decor...fun to look at, keeps your eyes busy for hours (if you must). I definitely want to return here before my trip is over.

OVER HYPED PLACE..TASTE OKAY!! Visited twice and both time the food taste okay. Only advantage is that it's right on road and open till 2 am. We got burrito with fries and it was dead cold. Had to take out fries to finish my burrito. 3 star for salsa option.

Besides that, they food is simple, yet amazing to eat. The Horchata is something worth trying as well if you like the taste of cinnamon. Definitely will be dropping by again for my taco cravings in the future.

I think this place is a great spot to go too when your out in beautiful north park drinking at the fine establishments around 30Th the food is great the sauces are bomb and the chips and dip you can’t stay away from . I’ve tried the burritos and roll tacos so far and it’s really good. Thanx for the good food .

I lived in San Diego for 34 years..... How is this the 1st time I've been here!? It's amazing! I got the Holy Mole Burrito and my Brother got the Surf and Turf... the food was amazing but that cilantro sauce is shockingly good!!!!! Can't wait to go back!

We're from Maryland and we're visiting family for Christmas. I've been to Lucha Libre once before a few years ago and it was terrific!! They are still standing up to their reputation. I only gave 4 stars this time because my burrito could have been a bit warmer. Our food was still very yummy though. 😋

I've been here a few times now and most recently during CRSSD weekend. I'll have to admit there's just something about having some bomb tacos to end the night. Next door to this shop is also a bar/club that could be a little loud. So expect that bar scene as they are literally right next to each other.There is generally a line here, but it tends to go rather quickly. Seating is available outdoors and as SD is generally on the warmer side of the scale it's a nice reprieve from being cooped up indoors.

This place has gone downhill significantly since they were on Man v. Food. Didn't encounter the carne asada until I was 1/3rd thru the Cali burrito! Then it was still skimp thereafter. Male cashier was super rude to top it off.

Small place but popular. Decor centred around wrestling with wall murals, photos, a golden 'ring' dining booth and wrestling masks hanging on the walls. Food order taken at a small desk and plenty on the menu to choose from.

Worst California burrito I have had in SD. Comparable to 7-11. Ordered a veggie burrito box as well. Order was wrong, with no beans or rice and the cheese wasn’t even melted. Worse than the surf n turf. This place’s glory days are way behind us.

The best "kitsch" restaurant we ever visited. The whole decoration is very inspired with a solid theme which is applied to every corner. Food was perfect and the portions were very rich. We booked the "Champ's Booth" which was a very unique experience to dine in a very different way. Also the Staff was very polite, caring and fun. Don't forget to try local beers and all the starter sauces.

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation. It was very pleasing. We also enjoyed the special drinks and the cucumber/cilantro was great. The wall theme was beautiful. Perfect for Instagram since we all love photography. We thank you for all the staff members who served us nicely. You are all great!

Great variety of sauces to choose from. The cucumber salsa and creamy cilantro pair very well with most items on their menu. Their steak and shrimp taco is the best one, perfectly cooked and seasoned, followed by their mahi taco. The corn tortillas are thick and tender.
